Microflown AVISA
Microflown AVISA (www.microflown-avisa.com) provides acoustic situational awareness and is a trusted partner of several NATO countries.
Its Acoustic Multi Mission Sensor is passive, weighs 2 kg, sizes 30 cm diameter and can locate simultaneously small arms fire, mortars/artillery and helicopters/drones.
As compared to weapon localization radars, AMMSs are passive, low power, not requiring a line of sight.
Vehicle mounted (parasite) mobile sound ranging arrays are available.
Arrays of AMMSs are used in:
- peace time operations for all weather target practicing without the need of external observers to report on points of impact
- war time operations for:
- localizing long range hostile artillery positions
- cueing weapon location radars into a certain direction, reducing their time on target
- predicting points of impact of hostile supersonic rounds (Hear & Warn)
